Uganda has 2 gorilla destinations that house a half of the remaining population of mountain gorillas in the world. These destinations are Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Both national parks are situated in the southwestern part of Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park alone has at least 459 mountain gorillas and at least 22 habituated gorilla families. The majority of them are available for luxury gorilla trekking.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park has only one habituated gorilla family, also available for trekking tours.
